About DR. jabu nkehil
A Journey of Excellence
Dr Nkehli’s commitment to medical practice began with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery qualification from the Nelson R Mandela School of Medicine, University of KwaZulu-Natal, in 2000. Following internships and service in hospitals across South Africa, she gained invaluable global exposure as a resident medical officer in England between 2003-2005. This diverse experience enriched her knowledge and dedication to delivering quality care to her patients.
Beyond her clinical practice, Dr Nkehli is deeply committed to addressing and eradicating disfiguring skin conditions, including leprosy. She heads a dedicated leprosy clinic at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital, building upon the legacy of her mentor, the late Prof Joy Schulz. In her relentless pursuit of providing optimal care, Dr Nkehli keeps abreast with current advances in dermatology, regularly attending local and international congresses to integrate the latest interventions for her patients.
Elevating her specialisation, Dr Nkehli obtained her Fellowship from the College of Dermatologists of South Africa in 2011, further graduating with a Master of Medicine in Dermatology at Witwatersrand University. Currently, she holds esteemed positions as a Consultant Dermatologist and Head of Dermatology at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital, Africa's largest hospital. Dr Nkehli's passion extends to educating future dermatologists, teaching medical students and registrars in the field of dermatology.
